| Founding.
Fundación Altiplano Monseñor Salas Valdés (FAMSV) was conceived as a furtherance of the inspirational work of Andean missionaries who aided their communities in the complex relationship and understanding between Andean and Western Cultures for centuries. On June 6, 2002, Fundación Altiplano Monseñor Salas Valdés was granted legal status by Exempt Decree No.553 in the Ministry of Justice. Mission. To promote a model of sustainable development that strengthens the rich traditions and culture of Andean communities. Vision. To guard the natural and cultural heritage of Andean communities and to develop resources worthy of preservation and responsible use. To address the neglect of rural communities and the threat of unchecked urban sprawl. To bring about an ethic of conservation through thoughtful and charitable development in rural communities and in turn receive a wealth of indigenous environmental and ancestral knowledge. Fundación Altiplano Monseñor Salas Valdés plans to create a dynamic research and development centers that work with Andean communities to strengthen and promote sustainable design and development that incorporates the traditions and wisdom of Andean culture. |
Board of Directors. President: Directors: Executive Director: Courses of Action. To support the Parinacota and Arica Andean communities in the reconstruction and restoration of their Andean churches, Andean cultural monuments and to bring awareness to the regional traditions and culture. To generate alternative methods on sustainable development inspired by the regional approaches to traditional construction and design, with the aim of strengthening Andean communities and to revitalize rural areas. Research the rich history and traditions of Andean culture, design and philosophy and record them for future generations. Bring awareness to traditional Andean culture, resources and sustainable development. Comunidad Misionera del Buen Pastor, is a group which serves the needs of rural and indigenous communities in Chile and South America. |
